How Do We Learn?
The Constructivist theory says — we each construct our "own knowledge". Meaning: Every time the brain is presented with a new piece of information it searches and scans to connect it to something already known, an idea, an experience or a belief. Like a bright three years old we overheard, who had just seen a welder's torch. One stormy evening he observed lightening in the sky. He concluded that welding was happening up in the heavens!
Discovery
We all possess a basic learning instinct. It's as natural as breathing. Take for example the language your infant developed completely on her own without any instruction. All she did was listen to the sounds you spoke and tried to reproduce them. Children are naturally curious and that's their natural way of discovering the world.
Exploration
Playing is the most fundamental and natural way of learning. But did you know that: each child has a unique playing style? And therefore a unique method of learning .?
Why is the sky blue?
If you haven't already been asked this question, rest assured
you would be soon. While you try to figure out the answer,
take heart that thinkers and intellectuals are still baffled
by similar complex questions like: How does the brain work?
How do we receive information through the senses? How do we
deal with new information? And indeed the big question. How
do we learn?
