What makes a great mentor?
A great mentor does not teach. He only facilitates by presenting real and active situations that are engaging and exploratory. He helps create an environment of trust and belief and has mastered the art of questioning — asking questions that that simmer lead to newer questions and further avenues of exploration. Remember your school days? For most of us, our favourite teacher was the one whose classes had less talk and more action — one where we as students learnt more than the teacher taught.
- Help the child connect by bringing the real world into the classroom.
- Fuel the child's natural curiosity
- Help them build connections and thus experience the "joy" of learning
- We indeed wish to let the child "be"
- Be who she really is and help her discover herself.know her strengths and weaknesses.
- We build on the strengths.discover her unique way of learning and give her room for expression. In the Ananda classroom each child has her "corner" her canvas to express herself.
- Through high quality observation, documentation and record keeping we maintain a dossier on each child. Passed from teacher to teacher each year this form a live record of each child's progress, abilities and strengths. Leading her and you to discover her true potential.

We carefully help build a child's self image, strengthen her inner emotional control and growth through self-discipline. And guide her as she learns through 'self discovery'.
For us at Ananda, this translates into planting the "seeds of inquiry" in your child's mind - nothing further. |
