There was once a little boy. An uncle visiting asked the child his name. The child's response was: Bunty No. Even after further prodding, he all the child said was: Bunty No. "Curious name" thought the uncle. Until he finally met the unfortunate child's parents. Their every other instruction to the child was: Bunty no, don't do that! Bunty no! |

Your role in joy
Your every word, gesture and action speaks volumes to the child. As parents you provide your child with the first definitions of who he/she is.
Why is the sky blue?
Why do you go to office?
When will you come back?
Why can't I eat wood?
Where did I come from?
How do birds fly?
Questions, questions !
As we speak, your child is thinking up her next question. You perhaps feel overwhelmed by the volley of questions from your little one. You may even feel a little exasperated and impatient at the pace of questioning. But do we think, that maybe, just maybe we as adults have lost our inherent curiosity and child-like wonder? Is it worth a second thought?
At Ananda we believe it is. The age your child is in, is one of pure joy. We must do what we can to enhance the child's self-worth. If you are a parent, take note:
• Teach them to feel proud of their family, history and culture. This will keep them connected to the past, and better understand the future.
• Give them choices. This helps them feel empowered
• Help them set realistic goals. This helps them feel successful
